A FISIOTERAPIA NA MOTRICIDADE FINA E AMPLA DE CRIANÇAS COM SÍNDROME DE DOWN
This research aimed to analyze tests and studies that address the development of fine and broad motor skills in children with Down Syndrome, aged 0 to 12 years, and justify the importance of intervention and early monitoring of physiotherapy and a multidisciplinary team in the lives of children with DS. Physiotherapeutic methods aim to reduce motor deficits and enable a future with little or no motor delay for the child. As a result of the tests and methods used, the children achieved positive development, but still had lower motor skills than typical children. The data discussed conclude that early physiotherapeutic intervention has great relevance for the development of global motor skills over time, opening the horizons for a change in humanity's vision in relation to this genetic condition.
