This study explored the domestic gambling industry research through network analysis to examine research trends and suggest future research directions. For this purpose, we focused on the listed and candidate sites in the Korean Journal Index Database from 2019 to 2023.The target papers were categorized by year, research topic, and journal to identify domestic research trends and network analysis was conducted after refining the keywords.Key findings from analyzing the gambling industry research trends are as follows.First, research on the gambling industry has decreased in quantity, but the introduction of online business methods and the increase in pseudo-gambling industries have diversified the areas of research.Second, the network graph of the gambling industry research showed the formation of four clusters, with the sports betting industry as the largest, followed by online gambling, the casino industry, and the legal system. These results indicate that the topics of gambling industry research align with the industry's changes. The study also suggests that empirical research based on foreign cases is needed to examine the possibility of introducing online casino industries given the recent active introduction of online business methods in the domestic gambling industry, and suggestions and follow-up research are needed to expand the boundaries of the industry, such as research on pseudogambling industries.
