Boosting Nigeria’s Agriculture Export: Effect of Agriculture Value Added
This study empirically examined the effect of agriculture value added on agriculture exports in Nigeria covering the period 2000 to 2022. Deploying Augmented Dicky- Fuller (ADF) unit root test, Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) bounds test, and Fully Modified Ordinary Least Squares to analyse the time-serried data that were obtained from secondary sources. The outcome reveal that agriculture value added (LNAGVAL) positively and significantly influences agriculture exports in Nigeria. As such adding value to agriculture should be the policy direction and focus of the government. This can be done by enhancing the value chain by moving into processing, marketing and other value-adding activities.
