Technology Inspires Mathematical Creativity in High School

Technology has a significant impact on the development of visual and mathematical creativity in high school. The purpose of this study was to observe how mathematical projects combining technology and creativity are implemented in a technology-oriented urban school in New Jersey. The study was conducted as a cross-sectional study using the observational method. The methodology section discusses examples of teacher projects such as modelling with circles, creating mathematical clocks, and exploring Theodore's spirals. The results section presents student projects, including watermelon clocks and drawing mathematical equations. Technology assisted teachers and students in finding patterns, creating mathematical equations, solving problems, and responding quickly to open-ended questions. This study extends the research field of creativity in high school by emphasising the complementarity of technology and mathematical creativity in the implementation of mathematical projects.
