Picardy book-indexing software: an appraisal for professional indexers
Picardy is an indexing program designed for the ‘accidental indexer’ (authors and others who might only occasionally have to prepare an index), but closer examination shows that it includes functions that could be extremely useful for professional indexers. This article examines these functions in detail, including import and export functions and conversion of already formatted indexes. A companion article by Michael Wyatt, ‘Picardy book indexing software: an appraisal for amateur indexers’, looks more closely at the software from the perspective of writers.
