A Low Probability of Intercept Method Based on Power Optimization for Frequency Diverse Array and Cooperative Jammer
A radio frequency (RF) stealth method on power optimization is proposed for frequency diverse array (FDA) radar with a cooperative jammer. This method focuses on the collaboration between the FDA radar and the jammer to optimize transmit power during detection tasks. It also leverages the time-variant and range-angle-dependent beam pattern of FDA to reduce the intercept probability of detection signals. The time-averaged coherent gain of FDA has been analyzed to support the power control optimization framework based on the radar equation to balance detection and low probability of intercept performance. In total, three constraints have been considered: reliable detection, effective suppression, and jammer-free detection capabilities. The transmit power can be obtained through closed-form solutions. The simulation results validate the enhanced RF stealth efficacy of our approach.
