Cover Feature: Asymmetric Synthesis of Quaternary α‐Aryl Stereocentres in Benzofuran‐3(2H)‐Ones Using Decarboxylative Asymmetric Allylic Alkylation (Chem. Eur. J. 46/2024)

The Cover Feature shows the Samuel Beckett bridge and the Convention Centre Dublin beside the river Liffey. The Convention Centre is the venue for the 9th EuChemS Congress being held in July 2024. The chemistry scheme shows a racemic β-keto allyl ester and the two diastereomeric transition states, the one on top leading to the preferred enantiomer (98 %) and the one on the bottom leading to the disfavoured enantiomer (2 %). The image captures the mirror effect as the Convention Centre has its mirror image blurred on the river Liffey. More information can be found in the Research Article by P. J. Guiry and co-workers (DOI: 10.1002/chem.202401738).

Abstract
