Manipulating Self-Collimation to Guide and Multiplex Light Using Photonic Crystals

Spatial variation can be introduced to photonic crystal lattices to control the direction and phase of propagating light. This work investigates the limits of this spatial variation and introduces photonic crystal structures for light-guiding applications through modeling, simulation, fabrication, and testing.

Abstract

Spatial variation can be introduced to photonic crystal lattices to control the direction and phase of propagating light. This work investigates the limits of this spatial variation and introduces photonic crystal structures for light-guiding applications through modeling, simulation, fabrication, and testing.
