Light absorption enhancement in a textured subwavelength mercury cadmium telluride layer
The absorption enhancement in a textured subwavelength thick Mercury-Cadmium- Telluride layer has been numerically investigated. The absorption is comparable to a non-textured bulk layer facilitating a ~4x reduction in volume. Achieving comparable absorption at a reduced volume has the potential to reduce noise in infrared photodetectors.
