Super-Bandwidth Detection using a Real-Time, Gapless Broadband Photonics Spectrogram with High Frequency Resolution

We recover the time-frequency representation of a 21 GHz RF bandwidth signal with 4.48 nanosecond time resolution in real-time without acquisition gaps using a 6 GHz detector. This is enabled by the high frequency resolution of a time-mapped spectrogram based on a Talbot array illuminator.

Abstract

We recover the time-frequency representation of a 21 GHz RF bandwidth signal with 4.48 nanosecond time resolution in real-time without acquisition gaps using a 6 GHz detector. This is enabled by the high frequency resolution of a time-mapped spectrogram based on a Talbot array illuminator.
