Occlusion-aided 3D Non-Line-of-Sight Imaging without Time-Resolved Measurements

We demonstrate 3D imaging of a hidden scene from non-time-resolved measurements by opportunistically ex-ploiting a hidden 3D occluder. Using an alternating minimization algorithm, the hidden light-occluder is reconstructed in 3D, while other light-emitting hidden objects that contribute to the measured penumbra are reconstructed in 2D.

Abstract

We demonstrate 3D imaging of a hidden scene from non-time-resolved measurements by opportunistically ex-ploiting a hidden 3D occluder. Using an alternating minimization algorithm, the hidden light-occluder is reconstructed in 3D, while other light-emitting hidden objects that contribute to the measured penumbra are reconstructed in 2D.
