Theoretical model of research on motivation of high school students in conditions of online learning

Introduction. The article develops the author’s categorical apparatus focused on the study of motivation to learning activities of high school students in the conditions of online learning. It is noted that the initiatives of the Government of the Russian Federation, oriented on the transfer of schoolchildren’s education to the online format, are not supported by reliable scientific expertise. The initiators of digitalization of secondary schools do not perceive the risks caused by online education process. The presented work is one of the few in which a theoretical model of research is developed that can become a basic foundation for the realization of empirical developments of the designated social problem. Methods. The methodological basis of the study was the concept of P. Lazarsfeld, who introduced the operationalist approach to social sciences, based on the development of the categorical apparatus through formalized procedures of logical operations with concepts. Results and its discussion. Work with concepts was carried out in the form of operationalization. The main principle of constructing the author’s categorical apparatus is reduction from the object to the subject of research with cutting off the secondary features of concepts and combining the main ones. The conceptual chain includes the following terms: online learning (object of research), learning motives, motivation of high school students, motivation of high school students in the conditions of online learning (subject of research). At the final stage of the research we came to the formulation of empirical indicators: 1) personal experience of high school students (teachers, parents) in the conditions of online learning; 2) cognitive activity of high school students in the conditions of online learning; 3) material, technical and information resources of online learning.
