3D MT modeling in conductive anisotropic and magnetic media using FE method with a divergence correction

The magnetotelluric method (MT) is a crucial geophysical method widely utilized in mineral resources survey. Its response is significantly influenced by both conductive anisotropy and permeability, and suffers a low convergence rate at low frequencies. However, the application of MT forward modeling, coupled with divergence correction, has not been extended to accommodate conductive arbitrary anisotropic and magnetic media. Therefore we have developed a three-dimensional finite-element modeling algorithm integrated with a divergence correction technique, which is capable of effectively handling such complex media. Following rigorous validation to ensure correctness and accuracy, the results, particularly at 0.001 Hz, demonstrate that the divergence correction scheme proposed in this paper substantially accelerates the iterative rate of solving equations.
