3D logarithmic inversion of magnetic amplitude data

In recent years, numerous scholars have conducted studies aimed at mitigating the impact of remanent magnetization, yielding notable advancements. To address the issue of low sensitivity in 3D magnetic amplitude inversion, we have developed a novel objective function based on the logarithmic amplitude characteristics of the magnetic field data. This newly proposed objective function is primarily designed for logarithmically transformed data. Through a comparison to total magnetic intensity, we have observed that it produces enhanced inversion outcomes as demonstrated by our model study.

Abstract

In recent years, numerous scholars have conducted studies aimed at mitigating the impact of remanent magnetization, yielding notable advancements. To address the issue of low sensitivity in 3D magnetic amplitude inversion, we have developed a novel objective function based on the logarithmic amplitude characteristics of the magnetic field data. This newly proposed objective function is primarily designed for logarithmically transformed data. Through a comparison to total magnetic intensity, we have observed that it produces enhanced inversion outcomes as demonstrated by our model study.
