Research on frequency domain imaginary component measurement system

The application of frequency domain electromagnetic methods in near-surface and shallow-depth exploration has been expanding. However, interference from primary fields has limited its further development. To address this issue, this study proposes a shallow-depth frequency domain electromagnetic imaginary component detection instrument system based on a virtual instrument approach, and successfully develops a prototype. Experimental testing instances validate the developed imaginary component detection instrument and software. The results indicate that the proposed imaginary component measurement system is feasible for applications in underground pipeline and metal detection fields.

Abstract

The application of frequency domain electromagnetic methods in near-surface and shallow-depth exploration has been expanding. However, interference from primary fields has limited its further development. To address this issue, this study proposes a shallow-depth frequency domain electromagnetic imaginary component detection instrument system based on a virtual instrument approach, and successfully develops a prototype. Experimental testing instances validate the developed imaginary component detection instrument and software. The results indicate that the proposed imaginary component measurement system is feasible for applications in underground pipeline and metal detection fields.
