The application of gravity and electromagnetic method in ultra-deep oil and gas exploration

When studying deep and ultra-deep oil and gas geological targets, due to factors such as large burial depth and complex geological conditions, the reflection signal-to-noise ratio of deep target layers in seismic data is reduced, which limits the advantage of high-precision research on deep exploration targets with seismic data. This article combines cases of gravity and electromagnetic EM exploration in western China to demonstrate the progress of gravity and EM method in data acquisition and processing technology. It also demonstrates the application of gravity potential field and seismic data combination to obtain structure abnormal distribution of deep geological target, effectively assisting in the implementation of deep structural targets using 3D seismic data; The application of high-power time-frequency electromagnetic TFEM methods, which directly study the resistivity and polarization properties of deep reservoir targets, and combined with seismic data evaluation, has achieved significant improvement in oil and gas drilling targets. Practice has shown that the unique technological advantages of gravity and EM method are of great significance in improving the efficiency of ultra-deep oil and gas exploration.
