Barriers to postgraduate education in primary dental care: a qualitative study
Study participants identified a range of personal and professional barriers to undertaking postgraduate dental education whilst working in primary dental care. Practitioners working within predominately NHS orientated practices perceived more professional barriers than those in private practice. The majority of participants indicated their preference for hybrid models of education which would work around clinical commitments. Further research and engagement with stakeholders should be undertaken to help reduce these barriers.
