Mechanically Induced Transient Fluorescence of Photochromic Diarylethene Crystals for Sensing and Security Material (Advanced Optical Materials 24/2024)

Mechanically Induced Transient Fluorescence Mechanically induced transient fluorescence of photochromic diarylethene crystal was developed by Ryo Nishimura and co-workers (see article number 2400143). Upon mechanical force being applied to the crystal of diarylethene under UV light, the crystal shows fluorescence only under mechanical stimulus, and it diminishes very rapidly. This concept provides a new materials design approach for producing mechanical force-induced organic luminescent materials.

Abstract

Mechanically Induced Transient Fluorescence Mechanically induced transient fluorescence of photochromic diarylethene crystal was developed by Ryo Nishimura and co-workers (see article number 2400143). Upon mechanical force being applied to the crystal of diarylethene under UV light, the crystal shows fluorescence only under mechanical stimulus, and it diminishes very rapidly. This concept provides a new materials design approach for producing mechanical force-induced organic luminescent materials.
