The history of the formation and development of author’s rights and related rights protection in the film industry globally can be divided into several stages. They include the initial period when cinema was perceived as a commercial product, the subsequent period of recognition of cinema as art and the development of legislation in this direction and the modern period with the strengthening of copyright and related rights protection, as well as adaptation to modern technologies and challenges.
