CORRELATIVE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN WOOL GROWTH, ITS CHEMICAL COMPOSITION AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
The results of the study of correlative relationships between wool growth, its chemical composition and physical properties in ewes in different seasons of the year and under different physiological conditions are presented. It is shown that there are close correlations between the content of total lipids and cystine, tyrosine, and total sulfur, as well as between the growth rates of wool and the content of cystine, hexosamines, and tyrosine in it. They can be used as markers for evaluating and predicting the intensity of wool growth processes and its physical and chemical properties.
