Simple Steps Towards Improving Safety in Obstetric Airway Management
( Eur J Anaesthesiol . 2023;40(11):826–832. doi:10.1097/EJA.0000000000001897) This project focused on simple interventions that can help improve obstetric airway management: videolaryngoscopy (VL), ramped patient positioning, low flow nasal oxygen and a preinduction checklist. It was managed by the obstetric airway management quality improvement team in a single tertiary referral obstetric center in a teaching hospital. Data was collected throughout three 6-month periods that correlate to different quality improvement intervention evaluations: June to November 2019, March to August 2021, and January to June 2022.
