Fibered 3-manifolds with unique incompressible surfaces

We present a family [Formula: see text] of fibered hyperbolic 3-manifolds whose fiber [Formula: see text] is the unique connected incompressible surface and the genus [Formula: see text] of [Formula: see text] can be arbitrary. This answers a question of Agol.

Abstract

We present a family [Formula: see text] of fibered hyperbolic 3-manifolds whose fiber [Formula: see text] is the unique connected incompressible surface and the genus [Formula: see text] of [Formula: see text] can be arbitrary. This answers a question of Agol.
