Agent banking activities are prevalent in the banking industry globally, promoting financial inclusion and providing access to banking services at reasonable costs. However, these activities also come with inherent risks. In Vietnam, agent banking has been piloted on a limited scale, but there is no specific regulatory framework governing it. This article conceptualizes agent banking activities and analyzes the legal factors affecting them. Based on this analysis, it proposes legal adjustments to better regulate agent banking in Vietnam.
