positive findings.Other limitations to this study included its retrospective nature and lack of knowledge whether biopsies were lesional or peri-lesional, and other pretest clinical characteristics.Overall, this study demonstrated that for cases submitted for LP, DIF offers a relatively high yield by not only confirming the presence of LTR but also providing evidence for or against other specific immune-mediated dermatoses. In selected cases when LP is considered clinically, DIF testing is a reasonable component of the diagnostic evaluation.
