Numerical study of aerodynamic noise of airfoil with rudder and porous material configuration
Abstract Porous materials are not only lightweight but also exhibit excellent noise reduction performance, making them an ideal choice for aerospace applications. This paper analyzes the aerodynamic noise effects of porous material foam aluminum on the rudder-containing NACA0018 standard airfoil with different porous material configurations and rudder deflection angles. The calculation results show that the surface porous can better balance the reduction of noise and the maintenance of aerodynamic performance. Finally, the influence mechanism of porous materials on the aerodynamic and noise reduction characteristics of rudder airfoils is analyzed through the sound directivity map and time-averaged flow field.
