Parameter optimization of pulse generator based on genetic algorithm

Pulse generation devices play an important role in hydraulic components, pipeline reliability testing, and other aspects. Among them, the pulse generation device with open-loop control has a simple structure, high reliability, and broad application prospects. In the conventional hydraulic system design process, pressure, flow rate, and power matching methods are often used for parameter design. It is difficult to accurately match the performance and energy consumption goals of the pulse generation device during the design process, which can easily cause significant energy loss or pulse waveform not meeting testing requirements. This study uses genetic algorithm to optimize and match the key parameters in the pulse generation device with small pulse error band range and low system energy consumption as optimization objectives. Using AMESim software to simulate and compare the optimized parameter neighborhood, the results show that the parameter design is effective and reasonable, with an error controlled within 4.9% compared to the standard waveform. The system energy consumption is not higher than 0.25kW in the 10mm diameter pipeline test.
