THE HISTORICAL BACKGROUND FOR THE EXISTENCE OF THE EUROPEAN VIOLIN IN CHINA

The article discusses the role of traditional Chinese bowed string instruments in the development of the country's violin art. The historical background and ways of adaptation and propagation of the European violin in Chinese culture are also studied. The key figures who played an important role in the development of violin education in China in the first half of the 20th century are identified.
