THE RELATIONSHIP OF FAMILY EDUCATION STYLES WITH PSYCHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ADOLESCENTS

This article presents the main results of an empirical study of the relationship between the styles of family education and psychological characteristics of adolescents. The methodological tools are: the “Quantitative Expression of Self-Esteem” by S. Budassi, the “Analysis of Family Relations” methodology by E. G. Eidemiller and V. V. Justitskis, the “Parents are Evaluated by Children” methodology by I. A. Furmanov and A. A. Aladyin, the scale of self-assessment of students' personal anxiety by A. M. Prikhozhan. Spearman's rank correlation coefficient was used as a mathematical method. The authors confirm the hypothesis of the existence of interrelations between the styles of family education and such psychological characteristics of adolescents as self-esteem and anxiety. As a result of the correlation analysis, significant correlations were revealed between the level of self-esteem, the level of anxiety and some parenting styles.

Abstract

This article presents the main results of an empirical study of the relationship between the styles of family education and psychological characteristics of adolescents. The methodological tools are: the “Quantitative Expression of Self-Esteem” by S. Budassi, the “Analysis of Family Relations” methodology by E. G. Eidemiller and V. V.
