Macrocyclic Diacetylene / Sulfonate Fluorophore Hierarchical Multifunctional Nanotoroids (Small Methods 8/2024)
Inside Back Cover In article number 2301286, Kim, Jelinek, and co-workers report hierarchical multifunctional nano-toroids comprising macrocyclic diacetylene and an anionic fluorophore. Formation of the intriguing toroid organization is ascribed to integrative hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions between the two molecular components. Gold nanoparticles deposited on the nano-toroid surface produce photocatalytic and surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy-active composites.
