Dedication of this special issue

One year ago today, my friend and colleague Christoph passed away.He was only 56 years old, one year younger than me.Since we met, 27 years ago, we had not stopped collaborating, doing trips and projects together.We knew each other's families, had seen each other's sons and daughters grow up, and experienced our changes of residence with the postdocs and the return to our home countries.
