Reversal Tuning of Liquid Metal Motor under Rotating Magnetic Field (Adv. Funct. Mater. 33/2024)
Liquid Metal Motors Aluminum-fueled liquid metal motors represent a novel class of transformable machines, distinguished by their excellent adaptability to flexible environments. Tuning of the macroscopic motions thus involved promises broad applications. In article number 2402832, Xi Zhao, Jing Liu, and co-workers report the fundamental phenomenon of directionally reversing such motors under a rotating magnetic field. Motors of different volumes can spin in place, as well as move with or against the magnet.
