Vets of the future get hands on in Scotland

A vet based in Anglesey is to take on the one of the toughest mountain races in the world while raising funds for a canine charity.Ceri Stewart will take on the Dragon's Back Race in September across the most mountainous parts of Wales. The race is run from Conwy to Cardiff over six days, consisting of nearly 400 km and with a total ascent more than twice the height of Everest.Ceri is raising funds for Foxhound Welfare, which cares for and rehomes the endangered breed. This is not Ceri's first foray into such challenging races, she has previously competed at CaniCross and, two years ago, completed the Ring O'Fire race, running 135 miles around Anglesey in just three days. She commented: 'I was thrilled to come fourth out of the ladies in the Ring O'Fire race, raising some cash for Foxhound Welfare along the way. Then of course I needed a bigger challenge, so I signed up for the Dragon's Back Race 2024!The training has been hard but I'm nearly ready.'
