Design and optimization of planetary wheel systems for formula racing cars

Abstract Based on the transmission system of the electric formula racing car, this article introduces the design of a new NW planetary gear train and the simulation ideas of the entire system. This study greatly ensures the accuracy of the analysis results by outputting the transmission power of the entire system and then using software to accurately select multiple parameters of each pair of gears. Further research was conducted on tooth direction modification to find the most accurate modification scheme suitable for the planetary gear train. This method has been applied to the Chinese Student Electric Formula E02 racing car, achieving the fastest speed and best stability in many competitions.
