An Implementation of Educational Multimedia Applications in Schools of the Metropolitan Districts

Universities have a crucial role in developing technological, scientific, and educational innovation in schools, and the link with the community is a fundamental pillar for developing a knowledge society. This research presents the general results of a linkage project applied to educational informatics. The main goal was to create educational software applications focused on reinforcing the teaching-learning process of children through online courses on the one hand and interactive learning activities on the oth-er. To carry it out, we used instructional design to develop educational software, and we used the OOHDM method (Object-oriented hypermedia design method) for the navigational and conceptual de-sign of educational multimedia applications for desktops. The results show the satisfaction of students and schoolteachers regarding the organization and structuring of multimedia applications and online courses developed. These educational software applications significantly improve the conceptual and procedural learning skills of schoolchildren instructed in different areas of knowledge.
