Adhæsion til de hårde tandvæv med multimodale adhæsiver
English summary Multimodal adhesives Nor Tannlegeforen Tid. 2024; 134: 590-5. Multimodal or universal dental adhesives offer the clinician the possibility of choosing between etch-and-rinse or self-etching strategies. This literature review focuses on the performance of such bonding systems when bonding to dental hard tissues. The database PubMed was searched using the term “dental adhesive”. Among the selected articles priority was given to relevant meta-analyses and clinical studies from the past five years. Several laboratory and clinical studies support the use of multimodal adhesives for bonding to hard dental tissues. Multimodal dental adhesives perform best in enamel in combination with selective enamel etching. In dentine these adhesives’ performance is at large influenced by the functional monomer present in their formulation. Despite the well-documented overall performance of multimodal dental adhesives, their effectiveness is product-dependent regardless of the chosen bonding strategy.
