Clinical Validation of Human Papilloma Virus Circulating Tumor DNA for Early Detection of Residual Disease After Chemoradiation in Cervical Cancer

(Abstracted from J Clin Oncol 2023;42:431–440 The majority of cervical cancers are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV), and despite treatment with chemoradiation (CRT), up to 40% of patients with locally advanced cervical cancer will relapse. Current prognostic factors are poor predictors of relapse; however, detection of HPV circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) after CRT may identify those at higher risk of relapse.
