REPARO DE RUPTURA DO TENDÃO DISTAL DO BÍCEPS BRAQUIAL EM ATLETA DE BASQUETE PROFISSIONAL
A professional basketball athlete who suffered a rupture of the distal tendon of the left biceps brachii after a traumatic event during training underwent surgical repair using the tendon reconstruction technique with biceps-button fixation and tendon-gliding technique. The male patient's initial complaint was sudden pain in the anterior aspect of his arms. He underwent clinical examination, radiographic and magnetic resonance imaging of the region, confirming the diagnostic hypothesis of rupture of the distal biceps brachii tendon. Postoperative follow-up of the patient was carried out and he presented complete recovery of the movements of the left upper limb and its involved joints, allowing him to return to high-performance sports in 10 weeks.
