Cover Feature: Photo‐activated Carbon dots (CDs) as Catalysts in the Knoevenagel Condensation: A Mechanistic Study by Dual‐Mode Monitoring via ESI‐MS (ChemPlusChem 8/2024)
The cover feature shows the use of electrospray ionization mass spectrometry in the monitoring of the Knoevenagel condensation catalysed by carbon dots photoactivated by UV light. This approach allows the authors to highlight the key role of the superoxide radical anion in the formation of the reaction product.
