DEVELOPMENT OF CRITICAL READING AND WRITING PRACTICES IN A SCENARIO CROSSED BY DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES

Faced with the new algorithmic arrangements that shape and are shaped in Internet navigation, we ask ourselves how to improve reading comprehension processes immersed in contemporary communicative contexts marked by the growing expressiveness of digital technologies based on the Internet. For this reason, a research is carried out whose main objective is to develop teaching strategies that contribute to critical reading and writing practices in Higher Education. The methodological approach is qualitative, based on procedural action research, organized in four stages. Preliminary results indicate that a large part of the sample is induced to choose content influenced by the algorithms, which in turn are fed back by the “echo chamber.” Which leads us to an incipient conclusion that it is necessary to prepare students to minimally master the functioning of Internet navigation, seeking to critically understand its limits and possibilities as an aid in the construction of knowledge.
