Identification of regional and sex differences in asthma mortality trends in Spanish Autonomous Communities (1980–2022)

This study identified concerning regional and sex disparities in Spanish ACs' asthma mortality (1980-2022). While male rates declined significantly across all regions, female rates showed variation, with even increases in some ACs. Targeted interventions addressing these disparities and their underlying causes (healthcare access, management practices, etc.) are crucial.
