The supporting structure strength analysis of indexing stamping machine for manufacturing thin-walled inverting steel tubes

Abstract Due to the occurrence of cracks in thin-walled inverting steel tubes during the inverting process leading to fractures, thereby failing to achieve the desired energy absorption effect, they were often manufactured by interstitial stamping process with the manual rotation of thin-walled tubes to reduce stress concentration points, which is not conducive to mass production. Therefore it proposes a new design scheme of the indexing stamping machine for mass production of thin-walled inverting tubes. And the tube supporting structure of the indexing stamping machine will undergo shear stress and axial stress during manufacturing operation. To ensure that the machine can operate properly, ANSYS software is employed to conduct strength and stability analysis for the supporting structure. The calculation results indicate that the main supporting structure can meet the strength requirements of the thin-walled inverting tube forming machine. These study findings provide some references for optimizing the structure design for indexing stamping machines.
