Optimization and performance verification of track vehicle multi-friction pair liquid-cooled full-disc brake system

Abstract The brake system is a crucial component for enhancing the reliability and maneuverability potential of tracked armored vehicles, with a particular emphasis on improving braking performance and reliability. This paper proposes a novel multi-friction pair liquid-cooled full-disc brake system by extending the friction pair and introducing a liquid-cooling structure. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed solution significantly accelerates the heat dissipation rate of the full-disc brake system compared to its initial version. Moreover, the presented approach increases the maximum average braking torque by 24.7% and reduces the braking time by 15.2% compared to the original version of the brake system.
