Research on Electromagnetic Vibration and Noise of PMSM with Unconventional Stator
For the unconventional design of the stator radial structure to reduce the cogging torque of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), the effect of structural variations on the electromagnetic vibration and noise (EMVN) performance of the motor is often neglected. In this paper, firstly, different stator radial structures to reduce the cogging torque are classified, and the design and optimization of these structures are carried out based on an 8 poles/12 slots surface mounted PMSM, and then the influence law of different types of structures on the radial electromagnetic force (REMF), torque performance and EMVN performance of the motor at different operating conditions are investigated. It is found that the effects of different types of structures on the torque performance and EMVN performance of the motor at different operating conditions have a certain law, and the cogging torque or torque ripple is not equivalent to EMVN performance. Moreover, more severe resonance may occur due to changes in inherent properties of the stator, it is recommended to take into account the validation of the EMVN performance when carrying out the improvement of the stator structure.
