Research on Polarization Effects of Wireless Communication Signal for Aerial Maritime Mobility Platform
This paper analyzes the impact of polarization on received signal, or Rx sensitivity in wireless communications between a base control station and a maritime mobility platform, specifically a flying autonomous unmanned vehicle (FAUV) over maritime propagation environment. It examines total signals received by the FAUV composed of direct and reflected fields, noting that changes in reflection coefficients and resulting phase alterations can cause the received signals to be either in phase or out of phase, impacting communication quality. The study differentiates between vertical and horizontal polarization of wireless communication signals, explores how reflected signal variations depend on polarization conditions at the sea surface, and assesses the effects of distance variations, FAUV flight altitude, and communication frequency on Rx sensitivity. These insights are crucial for optimizing polarization conditions in maritime wireless communications.
