A Conceptual Framework for FinTech Adoption in Kuwait: Extending the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)

This paper aims to develop a comprehensive conceptual framework for examining the various factors influencing the adoption of financial technology (FinTech) in Kuwait.Scholars and industry experts have not extensively explored this topic, so the paper fills an important research gap.The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is applied to achieve this, incorporating concepts such as brand image, digital literacy, and data security as indirect variables. The paper also proposes trust as a mediator and the intention for FinTech adoption as the direct variable in its framework. The paper not only contributes significantly to the existing theory by introducing a new model but also provides a novel framework that can be used by future researchers to study technology acceptance, particularly in the context of FinTech adoption in other regions of the world.
