An Experimental Study of Concrete by using Oyster Shell Ash and marble powder as partial replacement of cement

Concrete is an important construction material and there is problem in acquiring its main constituents namely cement, sand, fine and coarse aggregates, and water. After all the issues, the greatest environmental concerns in construction industry are the production of cement which emits large amount of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. Therefore, we are partially replacing cement by suitable alternatives from industrial wastes i.e., Oyster shell Ash and Marble powder.Oyster shell Ash and Marble powder by its variety of products has been widely used in structures since ancient times and with the increase in production of marbles it increases the waste during quarrying by means of cutting, sawing, shaping and finishing processes. This waste contains heavy metals which makes the water unfit for use and also creates environmental problems having great impact on human health as well as on nature.Waste management of Oyster shell Ash and Marble powder are planned and tried to investigate the effect of utilizing it for partial replacement of cement in concrete. To cast number of cubes, by replacing Cement with Oyster Shell Ash and Marble Powder.by 5% ,10%, 15% ,20% 25% and 30% to compare their property with standard mix M35.Study the behavior of compressive strengths of concrete cubes. To cast number of Cylinders, by replacing Cement with Oyster Shell Ash and Marble Powder.by 5% ,10%, 15% ,20% 25% and 30% to compare their property with standard mix M35.The strength of compressive strength to be found at 7 and 28 days. The strengths are compared with the normal conventional concrete and optimum.
