Over $5 billion to go to climate mitigation, resiliency projects
Climate mitigation, adaptation and resiliency projects across the developing world are getting a major boost in funding thanks to The Green Climate Fund, a United Nations‐sponsored funding entity that helps countries in the developing world meet their commitments under the 2015 Paris Agreement. The GCF recently approved some $1 billion in direct funding for 17 projects in 35 developing countries, a move that will unlock an additional $4.68 billion in grants and loan commitments from partner governments and agencies, bringing the total commitment to roughly $5.67 billion.
