USO E OCUPAÇÃO DO SOLO URBANO E A DISPOSIÇÃO DOS ESGOTOS SANITÁRIOS NA BACIA DO RIO ITACORUBI, FLORIANÓPOLIS/SC

This paper discusses the relationship between land use in the Itacorubi River basin, Florianópolis, state of Santa Catarina, and sewage disposal. To this end, maps of land use and sewage disposal in the basin were drawn up at a scale of 1,50,000. Land use was mapped using visual interpretation of digital orthophotos. The forms of sewage disposal were identified based on research in public agencies and field surveys. The combined analysis of these maps showed that the densest and oldest urban areas in the basin have the best forms of sewage disposal, while the most recent occupation in the headwaters of the basin is irregular and has many cases of raw sewage disposal directly into the rivers. Unfortunately, the irregular occupation of the headwaters compromises the quality of the water downstream. The use of the methodology of crossing classes of land use and occupation and the forms of sewage disposal using cartographic generalization on a scale of 1:25,000 was adequate for the proposed objective.
