INTERSECTIONALITY AND THE PUBLIC POLICY PROCESS - THE COST OF BEING "IN-BETWEEN" FOR WOMEN AND OLDER PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
The aim of the article is to show, using the example of women and seniors with disabilities, how being "between" various policies/ministries/interest groups increases the risk of being omitted in the process of creating and implementing public policy. In the text, we start from the public policy process and indicate how its individual users can influence policy agendas, and then discuss the challenges of being both a person with a disability and a woman or a senior citizen. We also emphasize the importance of the weaknesses of a given environment and the issue of identity in activist efforts. Finally, we put forward the thesis that a potential solution to the problem of being overlooked may be to strengthen activities aimed at mainstreaming women's and disability issues in public policy.
