La nave como unidad jurídica en Derecho romano: algunas reflexiones en torno a D. 47, 9, 3, 8 («Ulp.» 56 «ad edict.»)
This article focuses on a single source—D. 47, 9, 3, 8 (Ulp. 56 ad edictum)—which addresses the theft of nails from a shipwreck through a senatus consultum (hereafter, SC) issued during the reign of Emperor Claudius, as well as the punishment of naufragium supprimere by another SC of uncertain date and the extension of the Lex Cornelia de sicariis. The issue at hand—which, to our knowledge, has not yet been the subject of a dedicated study—is the legal conception of a ship as a juridical entity.
